Polyphenylene Sulfide [PPS]
Advanced Engineering Plastics 230°C
- Very high maximum allowable service temperature in air [220 °C continuously, up to 260 °C for short periods of time]
- High mechanical strength, stiffness and creep resistance, also at elevated temperatures
- Excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance
- Very good dimensional stability
- Excellent wear and frictional behavior [ Techtron® HPV PPS]
- Physiologically inert [suitable for food contact]
- Excellent resistance to high energy radiation [gamma- and X-rays]
- Good UV-resistance
- Good electrical insulating and dielectric properties
- Inherent low flammability
- Above certain temperatures, the mechanical properties of Techtron® HPV PPS decrease significantly, and the coefficient of linear thermal expansion increases considerably.
- Ketron® PEEK or Duratron® PAI may be more suitable alternatives in such conditions.
- PPS can be used in a wide range of industrial equipment
- Bearings and cylinders in industrial drying and food-processing ovens.
- Pump, valve, and compressor components in chemical processing equipment, as well as electrical insulation systems and sliding parts.
