Polyoxymethylene [POM]

Also known as Poliasetal, this engineering thermoplastic is used in precision components that require high rigidity, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability.

Grades

● Ertacetal® C / Acetron® GP POM-C
● Ertacetal® H / Acetron® H
● Ertacetal® H-TF / Acetron® AF Blend

  • High mechanical strength, stiffness and hardness
  • Excellent resilience
  • Good creep resistance
  • High impact strength, even at low temperatures
  • Very good dimensional stability [low water absorption]
  • Good sliding properties and wear resistance
  • Excellent machinability
  • Good electrical insulating and dielectric properties
  • Physiologically inert [several grades are suitable for food contact]
  • Not self-extinguishing
  • POM is not recommended for outdoor applications due to its poor UV resistance.
  • Gear wheels with small modules
  • Cams
  • Heavily loaded bearings and rollers
  • Bearings and gears with tight clearances
  • Valve seats
  • Snap-fit assemblies
  • Dimensionally stable precision parts
  • Electrically insulating components
